Star Formation in W5-E - An Herschel view

The large bubble HII region W5-E is an excellent laboratory to study the feedback of massive stars on the surrounding material in the context of ongoing star formation. We use Herschel PACS and SPIRE images to trace the distribution of the molecular material from which stars form. We use flux measurements of Herschel point-sources to characterise the structure, properties, and evolutionary stage of Class I young stellar objects, and to detect candidate Class 0 sources. We propose a scenario for the history of star formation in this region. We discuss triggered star formation.
